
Joint Call: Short Rotation Coppice (woody species)
On 2nd January 2008, the international Joint Call on Short Rotation Coppice (woody species) was launched within the framework of ERA-NET Bioenergy. The call aims to generate joint European research and development activities and focuses on three topics:
- Genetic improvement of Salix and other woody SRC species
- Improving the value chain of SRC
- Environmental aspects of SRC
4 Countries partipated in the call: France, Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom. In total 7 projects were sent to the international jury for evaluation. 3 Projects were funded and 4 projects weree rejected.
Workshop
On 9th September 2008 a workshop was held in Potsdam, Germany to present the proposals and consortia. The presentations of this workshop can be found at the section with events.
