Objective

The main activity of FNR is the management of the R&D programme "Renewable Resources" and Market Introduction Programme on behalf of the Federal Government, and to assist the BMELV in all renewable resources related issues.

Strategy

The major focus of the "Renewable Resources" is research, development and demonstration of best-practice examples. The funding budget is mainly dedicated to short or midterm projects, where new product developments from agricultural and forest raw materials can be expected from. The funding programme appeals above all to both public and non-profit organisations and the private sector. In addition special conditions for small and medium enterprises are possible.

The multiannual R&D Programme "Renewable Resources"

  • is addressed to enterprises, research institutes and universities
  • is divided into several product lines.

Objectives of the R&D Programme "Renewable Resources"

  • Sustainable provision of raw materials and energy
  • Reduction of emissions and development of environmentally sound products/energy systems
  • Improve the competitiveness of the German agriculture and forestry as well as related sectors
